Welcome to Time Tracker. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS application.
Information We Collect
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
Time Tracker stores all your data locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This includes:
- Time Entries: Records of when you start and stop tracking time
- Project Information: Names, descriptions, and categories of your projects
- User Preferences: App settings, accent color preferences, and notification preferences
- Onboarding Data: Your user type selection and app configuration choices
Important: All this data remains on your device. We do not transmit, store, or have access to any of your time tracking data on our servers.
Subscription Information
When you purchase a subscription through Apple's App Store, Apple processes and manages your payment information. We receive only:
- Confirmation that you have an active subscription
- Subscription type (Weekly or Yearly)
- Subscription status (active, expired, cancelled)
We do not have access to your payment card information or other financial details. This is handled entirely by Apple.
How We Use Your Information
The data stored on your device is used solely to provide the app's functionality:
- Display your time tracking history and reports
- Generate productivity analytics and insights
- Maintain your app preferences and settings
- Provide notification reminders (if you've granted permission)
Data Storage and Security
Local Storage
All your time tracking data is stored locally on your device using iOS's secure storage mechanisms. Your data is protected by:
- iOS device encryption
- Your device passcode/biometric authentication
- iOS app sandboxing (data is isolated from other apps)
No Cloud Sync
Time Tracker does not currently offer cloud synchronization. Your data exists only on the device where you created it. If you delete the app or lose your device, your data cannot be recovered unless you have an iOS backup.
Permissions We Request
Notifications
We request permission to send you notifications for:
- Reminders to track your time
- Weekly productivity reports
- Time management tips
You can enable or disable notifications at any time in your device Settings.
No Other Permissions
Time Tracker does not request access to:
- Your camera or photos
- Your contacts
- Your location
- Your calendar (unless explicitly added in future versions)
- Your microphone
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We Do Not Share Your Data
Since all your data is stored locally on your device, we have no ability to share it with third parties. We do not:
- Sell your data to advertisers or data brokers
- Share your data with analytics companies
- Transmit your time tracking information to any servers
- Use tracking cookies or similar technologies
Apple Services
The only third party involved is Apple, which processes:
- In-App Purchases: Managed entirely by Apple's App Store
- App Distribution: The app is distributed through Apple's App Store
Apple's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy, available at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Analytics and Tracking
We do not use analytics services. Time Tracker does not collect usage statistics, crash reports, or any telemetry data. We have no visibility into how you use the app.
Children's Privacy
Time Tracker is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Your Rights and Choices
Access Your Data
All your data is accessible directly within the app. You can view your time entries, projects, and reports at any time.
Delete Your Data
You can delete your data by:
- Deleting individual time entries or projects within the app
- Deleting the app from your device (this removes all local data)
Export Your Data
Time Tracker provides export functionality to download your data in various formats (CSV, PDF) for your records.
Manage Notifications
You can enable or disable notifications at any time:
- In the app's Settings
- In your iOS Settings → Notifications → Time Tracker
Cancel Subscription
To cancel your subscription:
- Open Settings on your iOS device
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap "Subscriptions"
- Select Time Tracker
- Tap "Cancel Subscription"
Data Retention
Your data is retained on your device until you choose to delete it or uninstall the app. We do not have a copy of your data, so we cannot delete it on your behalf.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We will notify you of any material changes through the app or via the email associated with your Apple ID.
Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
International Users
Time Tracker is available worldwide through the Apple App Store. Since all data is stored locally on your device, there are no international data transfers to worry about.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). However, since we do not collect or have access to your personal data (it's stored only on your device), these rights are largely not applicable. You maintain full control over your data at all times.
European Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Since your data is stored locally on your device and we have no access to it, you maintain full control over your data in compliance with GDPR principles.
